David Jackson is the latest poker player to win the prestigious WSOP bracelet after taking down the 2021 World Series of Poker Online $777 buy-in seven-max no-limit hold’em event. The event attracted a little over 2000 players and had a $1,486,634 prize pool. 314 players ended in the money with Jackson getting $194,178 for his first-place finish.

Even though Jackson’s career earnings stand at $2.9 million, this was his best deep run in WSOP events.

The final table

At the start of the final table, Weiling Wang was leading the pack, with a narrow chips advantage.

Masakazu Miyamoto was the first elimination of the day after busting a queen-high flush against Dumitru Pora nut flush. Miyamoto won $27,740 for his seventh-place finish.

It didn’t take long before another player was sent to the virtual rails. Ken Okada’s K-J was no match for Michael Watson’s 8-7. Watson made two pair on the river to eliminate Okada in sixth place.

Lucio Lima was next to fall. Lima’s efforts to double up fell through after his top pair was trounced by Pora’s low two pair. He earned $53,064.

Watson’s impressive run soon came to an end after falling to Wang. Watson had 9-6 while Wang had 7-6. They both flopped a pair but the 5 turn saw Wang make a three of a kind to win the pot. Watson earned $73,392 for his fourth-place finish.

Soon after, Wang was also eliminated. He moved all-in with A-Q and was called by Pora with A-8. Pora flopped a pair to win the pot. Wang was rewarded with $101,508 for his third-place finish.

Pora had a slight chip advantage going into heads-up play. However, Jackson won a huge pot to gain an insurmountable 50:1 chip advantage. With 9-6 and Pora K-K, Jackson flopped two pairs to win the decisive pot. Pora earned $140,394 for the second-place finish while Jackson earned $194,178.
