Lynn earned $10,945 for his seventh position. A few moments after the break, Yufei Zhong, who entered the day as the second chip leader, lost to Nestereko’s nine-eight. The Chinese player left the table in fifth place for $20,948. After Zhog’s elimination, the game pace slowed down a bit until Hieu Luu’s elimination. Luu was short-stacked from day 2 and struggled to keep up with the table but eventually got out in the fourth place when he went all-in against Nesterenko. Luu received $30,107 for his fourth position.

A few moments later, Evan Sayer had to return home when his ten-eight were dominated by nine-eight of Altizer. Sayer cashed $44,347 for his third-place finish. Now it was time for the heads-up play between the two players.

The Heads-up Play

Altizer was on the verge of losing the game twice when she was down to her last card, but Nesterenko couldn’t finish it off. Eventually, Nesterenko claimed the pot and the title by dominating the Altizer’s eight-five with his seven-six. Back in 2012, Altizer finished seventh in the same event, but she will be disappointed with her second-place finish. Altizer received her career’s largest cash, $66,910, for her runner-up finish.
