A WSOP bracelet is undoubtedly the most sought-after poker achievement. Unfortunately, being a good player does not always guarantee a WSOP bracelet. It usually takes multiple tries to reach a WSOP final table.

After 10 years, Jason Koon finally won a World Series of Poker bracelet. Well, it was only a matter of time. Koon has been phenomenal in live tournaments over the past several years. To that end, he has won multiple high roller tournaments to cement his name among the very best in the poker community.

After his recent WSOP win, Koon now has over $2 million in WSOP earnings. It is also worth noting that he was recently announced as the newest GGPOKER poker ambassador.

“My first WSOP was over 10 years ago and I still get that nostalgic feeling every time I walk in to play a WSOP event. I’ve always wanted to give my brother my first bracelet, so when I do get the monkey off my back, I’ll feel quite a lot of joy and relief,”

Jason Koon wins Event #11, the $25,000 Heads Up No-Limit Championship

Jason Koon powered through 57-players’ field to win. In addition to the WSOP bracelet, Koon also won $243,981.

To win the tournament, Koon had to outplay reputable players including Jake Daniels, Johannes Becker, Nicolai Morris, and Chris Brewer.

Despite being fatigued, after playing multiple events and being a new father, Koon was able to win heads up against Szabo. Several hands in, Koon was dealt pocket fives while Szabo had A-Q suited. Szabo moved all-in in an attempt to double up and was promptly called by Koon. No one improved his hand and hence Koon won the pot and the tournament.

“I am another level of tired, honestly. The wife and everybody have been doing so much to help with the baby. We were up at 8:30 a.m. today taking him to a doctor’s appointment. Then, I came here and played a couple of studs. Heads-up is so intense, but yeah, we got it,”

He is also looking forward to winning other events with his eyes on the $50k, $100k and the $250k events.

“I’ll play the $50Ks, the $100K and the $250K. I might play the Main Event, but that’s even pretty unlikely. I’m going to hang out with the baby, and I think there’s a guy coming into town this weekend that wants to play between a match $100K-$250K at ARIA, so I will oblige.”
