Meet Natalie Teh – A business lady turned poker player

The beginning

Less than a year ago, Natalie’s career in the corporate world was just taking off. Her star had just shone in the form of a lucrative position. Earlier, Natalie Teh was one of the best female foosball players in the world before she closed that chapter of her life.

While still in college, she found poker. Or we can say poker found her. She fell in love with the game, but she didn’t pursue it professionally. However, a few months into 2018, she changed tune. She forewent a business deal to travel and play poker. Since then, she has metamorphosed from an amateur poker player to an astute poker player.

During an interview, she said, “Generally I’m not a very emotional person, my friends call me a robot all the time and I guess that helps when it comes to poker.”

On Foosbal, she commented, “I was the number one female player in Asia for about three years before I started working, and after that, it started slowing down and now it’s poker over foosball.”

At the moment, Natalie Teh is one of the many Asian players actively playing poker on a global level. Thanks to Asian Poker Tour and Triton Poker Tour, poker’s popularity has skyrocketed in Asian countries.

Natalie Teh Notable achievements

With only about 9 months into her professional poker career, she has already posted several impressive results.

To kick off her poker career, she posted a fourth-place finish at the 2018 Aussie Millions’ A$1,025 NL Accumulator Event. As a result, she won $35,994.

Her prowess was again evident in the 2018 World Series of Poker’s Main Event. She finished 120th and won $57,010.

She also performed well in the 2018 European Poker Tour. She finished 9th in €2,200 No Limit Hold’em Deepstack event for $13,970. In addition, she finished 26th in EPT’s €5,300 No-Limit Hold’em main event in Prague for $31,935.

Recently, on 30th January, she finished 25th in 2019 Aussie millions’ A$2,250 +250 No Limit Hold’em.

According to Hendon Mob, she is 2,818th on EPT all-time money list.

Natalie is 952nd on the global poker ranking index. She is 23rd on Malaysia all-time money list. Additionally, she is 6,190th on the WSOP all-time money list and 2,034th on the WSOP main event all-time cash list.

Natalie is a promising poker player and I believe she will be quite a player in a few years to come.
