Proposition bets, commonly known as prop bets, are bets made regarding the occurrence or non-occurrence of an event during a Poker match.  Prop bets could be made regarding anything. They aren’t necessarily related to Poker. You could go in a Casino and see people winning or losing prop bets over weather, lingerie color of call girls, weight of players and other random things like that.

Phil Ivey’s Veg Prop Bet

Phil Ivey, the famous Poker player who has won ten World Series of Poker bracelets, got into a bet with his friends Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Gus Hansen, Daniel Negreanu, and Eli Elezra that he’d go vegetarian for a year for $1 million. Eventually, Ivey lost the bet because he couldn’t resist steaks.  He paid $150,000 to get out of the bet.

Doyle F. Brunson’s Weight Loss Bet

Doyle F. Brunson, the famous American Poker player who’s played the game for over 50 years, had struggled with his weight for most of his life. But in 2003, Brunson decided to take things to the next level and bet $1 million when his friends challenged him that he would not be able to take his weight below 300 pounds. Brunson worked out a lot, and used the diet plans made by Weight Watchers. He won the bet.

Huck Seed Golf in Desert Bet

Huckleberry ‘Huck’ Seed is known for his gutsy behavior and he doesn’t avoid showing his guts off the table. Huck Seed once took a bet that he could break 100 on a desert golf course, that too four times in a day. For this Herculean task, Seed decided to take along just a five iron, a putter and sand wedge. Seed spent all the day in the scorching desert near Las Vegas, and eventually won the bet after six rounds.

The Cheeseburger Bet

Famous professional Poker player David F. Grey once bet Howard Lederer that he would not be able to eat a cheeseburger (Howard is a vegetarian). The bet money was a whopping $10,000. Within minutes, Howard devoured a big cheese burger, but was kind enough to give David Grey a chance to save his money. Howard bet David that he would not be able to eat a plate full of olives. He was well aware that David hated olives. Instead of taking the challenge, David took out his wallet and handed his friend $10,000.

Huck Seed’s standing backflip

Huck Seed stands tall at six feet seven inches. Yet he bet his friend Howard Lederer $10,000 that he could perform a standing backflip. The rules of the bet were tough: Seed had six months to learn the trick, but had only one shot to do it. No extra chances. And Lo and behold. Seed did it. His friends say that Seed was drunk at a party when he did the deed.

Dan Bilzerian’s Bicycle Bet

Bill Perkins bet the famous playboy and poker player Dan Bilzerian $60,000 that he would not be able to cycle from Vegas to Hollywood Mountains in 48 hours. Bilzerian quickly took the challenge, called the famous cyclist Lance Armstrong to get some tricks, and started the ride. Bilzerian, who has suffered at least two heart attacks, completed the journey in 33 hours.
