Daniel Colpoys outstanding performance

The tournament took place at the PokerGO studio and took place over two days.  The first day was largely eventful and only a handful of players returned to the final day.

The final table was made up of 8 players.

Colpoys masterminded the first elimination of the final table after winning a coinflip against Shannon Shorr. His red hot run saw him eliminate Michael Lang in sixth place for $46,200.

Five-handed play began with Scott Ball being the short stack. Ball’s attempt to double through Darren Elias didn’t come to fruition and was eliminated in fifth place for $61,600.

It took more than 20 hands before the next elimination. Matthew Wantman shoved with Q-10(suited) and was called by Colpoys with A-K(Suited). Wantman failed to improve his hand while Colpoys made a flash. Wantman was awarded $77,000 for his fourth-place finish.

In three-handed play, Colpoys faced off against Elias and Andrew Lichtenberger and the latter had almost a 3:1 chip advantage. However, a few hands in, Elias was able to eat into the chip advantage and he regained the chip lead after eliminating Elias in third place. Elias earned $100,100.

Heads-up play was nothing short of exciting and took almost 50 minutes.  With a diminishing stack, Lichtenberger was eliminated in second place for $146,300.  Daniel Colpoys won the ultimate prize, $200,200, and a bundle of points.
