Michael Addamo won the high roller $50,000 no-limit hold’em eight-max event after defeating Justin Bonomo in heads up. This recent win is his third on the WSOP scene.

A month ago, Addamo won the 2021 Super High Roller Bowl for $3.4 million. Cumulatively, in 2021 alone, Addamo has accumulated more than $7.4 million in online and live tournaments. It is apparent that he carried over his impressive form to WSOP.

This year’s high roller event attracted 82 entries including Erik Seidel, Bin Weng, and Justin Bonomo.

“It does put some pressure [on you], because if you internalize and believe that, you can become complacent, and sometimes that might make you study less,” I just try and keep humble and try not to let it go to my head and just keep working and studying hard.”Addamo

Interestingly, out of the three bracelets, two of them have been in high roller events.

Michael Addamo storms through final table

The final day of the tournament started with 5 players fighting for the humongous first place prize and WSOP bracelet bragging rights. Prior to the start, Addamo already had a significant chip lead with almost half of all the chips in play.

It is imperative to note that the final table started on Day 2 of the event but only three players were eliminated.

Chris Hunichen was the first player to be eliminated on day 3. With only a few big blinds to his name, Hunichen was desperate to double up. Unfortunately, up against Addamo, he shoved with Q-9(suited). Addamo called with J-10 on a J-7-6-8. Board. The river card was another J and Addamo won the pot.

Addamo’s hot streak continued and he eliminated Erik Seidel to further stretch his chip advantage. Seidel moved all-in preflop with pocket eights and was called by Addamo with A-K. Addamo flopped a top pair to win the pot and eliminate Seidel in fourth place.

Three-handed play involved Gal Yifrach, Bonomo, and Addamo. Yifrach had roughly 10 big blinds while Bonomo had about 50 big blinds to his name.

After trading chips back and forth, Yifrach finally fell to Addamo. Addamo raised from the big blind with pocket eights and Yifrach defended his small blind by moving all-in with A-7. The board had 4 spades and  Addamo made the winning flush.

After a few minutes of heads-up play, Addamo and Bonomo moved all-in with K-J and 10-9 respectively.  Michael Addamo won the hand to eliminate Bonomo in second place for $1, 132,968.
