The Event 5: $600 Mystery Bounty $300,000 Guaranteed of the 2022 Lodge Championship concluded at the Lodge Poker Club, Texas. Day 2 began with 64 entries, and it took 13 hours of play to decide a champion. Mohammad Bagheri took the title for $40,702 after beating Michael Alveraz.

This win is the career-best for Bagheri, whose lifetime earnings were around $15,000 before this win. Bagheri’s strategy of remaining calm and having a steady chip count helped him a lot. He emerged as the chip leader with only four players remaining at the final table.

The most interesting part of the day was the announcements when players started drawing their bounties to know the amount of money they would get. Collin Ball was the lucky guy as he got the ball rolling after he drew the $20,000 bounty (the second-highest prize available).

Final Table Action

Eliminations began with Michael Noori, who earned $3,118 for his ninth position. His four bounties totaled $9,900. Blake Whittington was the chip leader at the start of the day but unfortunately finished eight for a prize of $4,001. Chris Staats was the next victim of elimination and went home with $5,283 for his seventh place.

The six remaining players agreed to ICM chop the total bounty prize. Mahesh Rathi won the lion’s share which totaled $17,026.

Sixth place favored Daniel Zambrano who won $6,945 for the sixth position. Marc Lesitsky followed Zambrano and earned $8,573 for fifth place. Michael Jozoff was considered one of the strongest players in chip counts but lost some key pots to finish in fourth place. Mahesh Rathi had a significant chip lead in the six-handed play, which continued till the three-handed play. He lost some pots to Bagheri, which decided his fate in the third place for $16,194.

The Heads-up Play

The heads-up play began with Bagheri having a chip lead, which he turned into a 3:1 lead. Bagheri had the chance to win as he had the lead on a flop, but Alvarez managed to get back in the game after turning a flush. Alvarez turned things around and became the chip leader. He also had the chance of winning in a preflop, but Bagheri somehow turned things around. A few minutes of silence and suspense covered the environment when the dealer started counting the stakes. Both players were not sure who was the winner, but it ended in Alvarez having a single-blind remaining.

Bagheri finished the deal on the sixth all in and went home with a prize of $40,702. Alvarez played brilliantly but finished second for $23,486.
