The  Ace Bulgarian poker player Yulian Kolev made his way to the top from a massive 7,961 entries in the Event #37 of the World Series of Poker $1,500 Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold’em. The event continued for five days, and the prize pool ($10,627,935) was distributed among the top 1,196 finishers. Yuliyan Kolev earned his second WSOP gold bracelet with a top prize of $1,125,141.  Interestingly, Kolev played the event while wearing a KFC bucket upside down.

Seven months ago, Kolev earned his first WSOP title by winning the $77 Lucky 7’s No-Limit Hold’em. This online event earned him $146,163. Kolev becomes the first Bulgarian player to win multiple bracelets. Additionally, Kolev’s lifetime earnings have now increased to more than $2.8 million.

The field included many famous players like three-time bracelet winner Ryan Leng. Leng was eliminated in 40th place for $29,070. The five-time bracelet winner and two-time WPT champion, Robert Mizrachi. Mizrachi earned $35,573 for his 27th position. Another big name, James Calderaro was eliminated in 26th place with a payout of $43,849.

 

Final Day Action

There were just five players on the final day. Other final table players were eliminated the night before the final day. Tyler Gaston had the lead on the final day, while Kolev was the second in the lead. The first elimination of the day started with Dominic Brazier. Brazier was short-stacked and shoved with queen-seven. Kolev called with his jack-eight and made two pair on the river to eliminate Brazier in fifth place for $301,346.

Next in the elimination line was Yita Choong. He called with pocket sevens when Kolev moved all-in with his Queen-Four. A queen on the turn decided the fate of Choong, and he had to leave the table in fourth place with a prize of $395,545.

Tyler Gaston went all-in on a J (Hearts), 7 (Clubs), 5 (Clubs) flop. He had a J (Diamonds) and 10 (Hearts), while Oren Rosen had Q (Clubs) and 10 (Clubs). A 9 (Diamonds) on the turn comforted Rosen, and soon he turned a Q (Diamonds) on the river, winning a queen pair. Gaston went home with $522,705 for his third-place finish.

 

The Heads-up Play

The heads-up play started with Kolev having the lead. It didn’t last long and roughly took 20 minutes to decide the champion. Kolev went for a three-bet with A (Hearts) and A (Clubs) in response to Rosen’s raise with a Q (Diamonds) and J (Clubs). Rosen called, and the flop came down Q (Spades), 8 (Spades), ad 3 (Clubs). Kolev moved all-in when the turn showed 3 (Diamonds), and Rosen made the call. Rosen was in trouble, and finally, the 9 (Clubs) sealed the victory for Kolev. Rosen earned $695,390 for his runner-up finish.
