Daniel Dvoress has finally joined the big leagues after winning the $250,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl for $4 million.

In fact, very few people knew of Dvoress before this win, but he will undoubtedly move up a few places on popularity ranking after his latest exploits.

He may not be Daniel Negreanu, Justin Bonomo or Phil Hellmuth but he sure is heading there. Impressively, he has now raked more than $15 million in cashes which is definitely not a small achievement.

 

Daniel Dvoress Final Table Heroics

Going into the final table, no one would have thought Dvoress would make it to heads-up play, let alone win the tournament.

The final table had a couple of reputable players. Erik Seidel, a Poker Hall of Famer, was among the final tablists. Justin Bonomo, a top grinder and the 2nd All-Time poker “Moneymaker”, also made it to the final table.

Other players who could have been easily tipped to win the tournament include Jason Koon and Steve O’Dwyer.

At the start of the final table, Seth Davies held the lead, albeit slight, followed closely by Jason Koon.

However, a few hands into the session, Seth Davies lost the lead after losing a huge pot to seidel. Seidel flopped a straight to dim Davies’s prospects of winning the title.

Bonomo and Koon were the first eliminations of the day. Shortly after, they were joined by O’Dwyer.

As fate would have it, Davies luck ran out and he was eliminated in 5th place for $1,020,000.

Siedel’s impressive run also came to an end and he was sent to the rails in 4th place for $1,275,000. Siedel now ranks 4th in the All-Time money list.

 

A bad beat to remember

A tournament is usually not complete without an insane bad beat and Kathy Lehne, the only woman in the final table, was the unfortunate victim. In fact, it may go down as the bad beat of the tournament.

Lehne called all-in in a million-chip pot with pocket aces and was called by Wei Lin Chan with pocket sixes.

Lehne led from the get-go and the flop was good for her. The board ran out K-K-Q-7. It was not until the river that Lehne’s aces were trounced by Chan’s Three-of a kind after the river ran a 6. Her third-place finish earned her $1,785,000.

The heads up play involved Daniel Dvoress and Chan. In the final hand, Dvoress moved all-in with pocket 10’s and was called by Chan with Ace-Deuce. At the time, the flop was 2-3-2 and hence Chan had a three-of a kind. However, a 10 on the river handed Dvoress the win and Chan was eliminated in the 2nd place for $2,677,500.
