SHRPO Event #30: Final Day Action

Bracelet winner Byron Kaverman started the day as the chip leader, while Peters was short-stacked with just 12 big blinds at the beginning. Luckily, Peters made two double-ups through Krishna Lawrence and chipped up to almost 50 big blinds. Lawrence was short-stacked and soon became vulnerable to elimination with 10 (Diamonds) and 9 (Diamonds) against A (Clubs) and 9 (Clubs) of Peters. Lawrence tossed a ten, but Peters collected the nut flush draw. The river was just a formality, and Lawrence left the table in fifth place for $97,000.

After that, Kaverman won a considerable pot against Peters to drag him a bit, but Peters got his momentum back by eliminating Sergio Aido. Aido’s A-10 was dominated by pocket kings of Peters, resulting in his elimination in fourth place. The Spanish Poker pro received $133,375 for his efforts.

Next in the elimination line was two-time bracelet winner Elio Fox. Fox shoved his almost nine big blinds with Q (Clubs) and J (Clubs). Kaverman replied to Fox with a call with his A (Spades) and 6 (Clubs). The board showed 9 (Hearts), 8 (Spades), 5 (Diamonds), 7 (Spades), and 5 (Hearts). Kaverman secured the pot after he made a nine-high straight. Fox earned $194,000 for his third-place finish, increasing his career total to around $12 million.

After Fox’s elimination, Peters’s chip count was 1,793,000, and Kaverman’s chip count was 1,330,000. After a while, both players settled on a deal, bringing the event to an end. Peters was declared the winner due to his lead and received $407,545 for his top finish. Kaverman cashed $380,580 for his runner-up finish, increasing his lifetime earnings to around $17.4 million.
