Jorden Fox wins first bracelet in $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold’em

Winning a bracelet is always the main objective of all poker players participating at the WSOP.

However, not everyone is good enough to win the iconic gold bracelet. Well, Jorden Fox is the latest owner of a WSOP bracelet.

Fox won his first bracelet in Event #22: $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold’em against a strong field which had 3,253 players. In addition to the bracelet, he also won $420,693.

The final table was not a walk in the park for fox. He had to outplay Jeffrey Smith and Scott Vener, both of whom are impressive poker players with glowing resumes.

The soon to be father  had a few words for the media after the win

“It’s the most amazing thing[…]I’m about to have a baby next month and I’m only here to play three tournaments. This is the third one and I just won it. It’s unbelievable,” he said.

Throughout the event, Jorden Fox enjoyed support from his family members, a contingent which included his brother, Dad, and his cousin. Interestingly, apart from supporting fox, they are also at the WSOP to enjoy some action.

“We all come out here every summer together and make it our family thing. My dad [Yosef Fox] took 100th in the Main Event in 2015, I took 27th last year. Every time we get here we all get together and coach and rally each other. I don’t know how I’d do without the rail.”

 

Jorden Fox WSOP history

Jorden Fox does not have a long WSOP history but that does not mean this was his first WSOP deep run. In 2018, fox almost made it to final table in the Main Event after making it to Day 7. He was eliminated in the 27^th place. For the 27^th place finish, he won $282,630. This year he outdid himself. He almost doubled his 2018 WSOP cash earnings and he got a bracelet to show for it.

Comparing the main event to double stack no-limit hold’em, Fox had a few words.

“It’s totally the opposite of the Main Event where you can sit and be really patient. For this one, you gotta be running good pretty much the whole time and weathering the bad beats. But the structure with more chips starting out, and the faster blinds, all seemed to work out for me this time.”
