Michael Addamo has entered his name into the GGpoker’s history books by winning the 5th GGPoker Super Million$ for $518,640. This was also the most expensive weekly tournament. Addamo earned $3.6 million from this tournament alone. This is however the 3rd highest earning after Joakim Andersson ($4,889,545) and Niklas Asterdt ($4,197,843).


2021 – A luckier and more profitable year for Addamo

He played World Series of Poker and World Poker tour online events in the spring of the year 2021. The live tables in September were luckier for Addamo. He earned $1.8 million.

This didn’t stop here. He won 3 more massive flows of cash on the Poker Go Tour. After that, he secured two bracelets in the WSOP. Addamo also won the Aria High Roller Series tournament in the same year.

2021 was one of the most profitable years for Addamo as he earned a total of over $9.4 million in online and live tournaments.

The Game – A brief overview

Michael Addamo had a cheap lead and somehow managed to remain in this position till the heads-up play. This lead made sure to him that he has out of the fear of being eliminated. Then he won a pot. Brazil’s Pablo Silva however gave Michael a tuff time.

Within 10 minutes Addamo performed his first elimination of the final table. When the blinds were at 35,000/70,000/8,500 Addamo managed to rise to 140,000 with pocket tens. With the value of $4.5 million and the 2nd in terms of the chip count, ‘TheRayGuy’ came up with the 3-bet to 462,000 having pocket aces. Addamo then secured a K 10 4 which ended up being three of a kind. When Addamo played check with a total of 1.2 million chips “TheRayGuy’ went all in. The turn and the river were 8 and J. TheRayGuy finished 9th place and was awarded $64,830.

The Heads-up

When both players entered the heads up-play Addamo already had a chip lead of 13,498,340 to 13101,660. Silva however regained the lead when the duel started. Then Addamo scored a big double-up due to a flush on the river. Sealing the deal became easy Addamo. A few hands later after the Addamo’s double-up, Silva opened to 35,000 from the button. Silva had pocket jacks at that time. Addamo went for a 3-bet to $1.2 million. He had an A K at the time.

Silva decided to push his 7 million chips and Addamo made the call.

Silva managed to be ahead with the flop that showed 10 10 8. The turn revealed A which blessed Addamo the top pair while the 6 on the river was the end of Silva’s journey in the tournament. He finished 2nd and was awarded $399,926. Michael Addamo had his fifth Super Milion$ title and won the top prize of $518,640.
