The 2022 European Poker Tour (EPT) is currently underway in Casino Barcelona and will continue till 21 August. Recently, an exhilarating day of high roller action ended after almost fifteen hours of play. The 2022 EPT Barcelona € 50,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em single-day high roller event attracted 62 entries, building a prize pool of €3,007,620. The Australian pro, Michael Addamo, won the title and top prize of €917,330 by defeating David Yan in the heads-up.

With four bracelet wins and 14 live tournament earnings since 2021, Addamo seems unstoppable. With this win, Addamo reached the 20th recorded career title. The 28-year-old also increased his lifetime earnings to more than $20.8 million, firming his position on the all-time money list. Despite all his success, this is the first EPT victory for Addamo.

In May 2022, Addamo won two Triton Series events in Madrid, earning €1.5 million, including a seven-figure score. The four-time bracelet winner loves Barcelona and went to the Spanish fiesta for enjoyment.

After that, the play slowed down a bit, and it seemed like Addamo and Ponakvos were playing a heads-up match. The other three players played cautiously and allowed the two to go at it in almost every hand. After a while, the four-time bracelet winner Adrian Mateos moved all in with Q-5, and Addamo called with an 8-6. Addamo paired sixes and tens to win the pot and eliminated Mateos in fifth place for €255,650. The Spanish poker pro increased his lifetime earning to more than $29.7 million.

Fourth place favored Mikalai Vaskaboinikau when his pocket eights were a no match against the pocket nines of David Yan. Vaskaboinikau got €436,100 for his fourth place showing. Ponakovs and Addamo continued the battle for a while, but Ponakovs lost two big all-ins against Addamo. The Australian poker pro made a pair when behind both times, sending Ponakovs home in third place for €601,520.

Finally, the board showed Q (Hearts), J (Hearts), 9 (Hearts), 3 (Hearts), and 2 (Clubs), bringing the tournament to a close. David Yan received €601,520 for his runner-up finish.
